Adding special characters using the clipboard

Adding special characters using the clipboard

Computers abroad have different keyboard layouts, and visiting friends or colleagues might have trouble using your PC. This is especially a problem with laptops purchased in another country. Windows helps you find the characters you need with a small but relatively unknown tool. Click ‘Start’ and enter ‘charmap’ in the ‘Search for programs and files’ box.
The operating system presents the search result immediately in the Start menu. Double click ‘charmap.exe’ in the Programs’ area. The tool enables you to select any special character using the Windows clipboard and paste it into any application. Copy the necessary special characters by double clicking on them in the ‘Character selection area. Subsequently, accept the selected characters with ‘Copy’. Immediately, you can add the copied character selection to any document or table with [Ctrl]+[V].
